Orchiectomy
This picture is taken in the operating room immediately after removal of both testes. The incision is highlighted with yellow markers since it is hard to see. The incision is 2-3 cm, vertical in the middle of the scrotum, below the base of the penis. Dissolvable suture is used to close this incision in multiple layers. In 8-12 weeks, this will be a thin line that is barely visible. By one year after surgery, any redness in the scar color tends to turn pale white for most patients.

This surgery generally has a quick recovery with minimal pain for most patients. We recommend 2 weeks off work after surgery for recovery.
